The Aqua English Project was founded by Same Same But Different in 2006, as a social enterprise initiative addressing inequities in aquatics for refugee and migrant communities. In 2019, it evolved to an independent not for profit and is currently awaiting charity status.

Vehicle Testing Queensland (VTQ) have secured Same Same But Different to develop a strategy that would enable its vision of road safety in Queensland to form its legacy. We have developed the Generational Road Safety Alliance and will focus on road, vehicle and user safety with purposeful partnerships.
Queensland Water Exercise & Therapy (QWET), formally QWEP was born from a recognition that aquatic therapy in Australia is still underutilised compared to international counterparts. Using the water for torture and trauma therapy, hydrotherapy and occupational therapy is essential for recovery and rehabilitation, but it should go further than this.

Working collaboratively with The Beechmont Recreation, Arts and Sports Association (BRASA), Scenic Rim Regional Council and Resonance Design & Architecture for the development of Beechmont Community Hub. This project has required federal government grant submission, expressions of interest, legacy vision and development, and advocacy for regional sport development and infrastructure in the lead up to Brisbane 2032.

In a joint partnership between Trade Queensland, The Queensland Government’s global business agency, and ZeroGen Pty Ltd (renewable energy development) Policy & Advocacy Lead, Sarah Scarce was engaged to develop the ‘International Climate Change Education Project’ as a holistic method of cross cultural and bipartisan engagement on a key global issue.
In collaboration with the Refugee and Immigration Legal Service (RAILS), funding was secured for a partnership with The Aqua English Project Ltd. The aim of the partnership was to explore better ways to present the Australian legal system to refugees and new arrivals with limited language in Australia.
